CARSON CITY, Nevada — A program aimed at helping at-risk students stay in school and graduate is receiving a boost in Nevada from AT&T.
The telecommunications giant on Monday presented a check for $71,000 to support the Jobs for America's Graduates program at Wooster High School in Reno.
The program referred to as JAG was launched in Nevada in the 2012-2013 school year. It puts specialists in schools to work with the most at-risk students with the goal of keeping them in school.
It is expanding this year to 16 schools in six school districts, serving about 600 students.
Gov. Brian Sandoval says the financial support means Nevada will reach another 41 students.
Including Monday's contribution, AT&T has committed $151,000 to the program this year.
